Conferences and continuing medical education (CME) programmes are primary scientific forums wherein professionals gather together to discuss and present topics of scientific importance. We have been actively organizing scientific programs and conferences for the benefit of medical professionals. A list of these programmes is as follows


    ACUCON 2000

  • Ninth National Conference of Acupuncture Association of India, 'ACUCON 2000' , was organized on 16th & 17th December 2000 at the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences in Hubli, Karnataka. This conference was organized in Hubli under the leadership of the organizing secretary Dr. Vinay Varma. This two day extravaganza witnessed several eminent speakers delivering lectures on a wide assortment of topics highlighting the role of acupuncture in low back pain, joint diseases, migraine etc among many others. Deliberations following the lectures were also held. The exchange of knowledge between professionals from various specialities had a profound impact in creating awareness about acupuncture as a valuable complementary medical tool in a variety of medical disorders and was a grand success.

  • Pain Relief and Sexual Medicine in Clinical Practice 2006

  • A CME on Pain Management, titled, 'Pain Relief and Sexual Medicine in Clinical Practice' was organized by Govindram Varma Charitable Trust in collaboration with IMA and General practitioners association, Hubli branch and held on 9th April 2006 at IMA house, Hubli. Dr Lakshmi Vas, Anesthesiologist and Interventional pain Specialist from Mumbai gave an interesting lecture on "Pain Relief" and performed live demonstration of Intra Muscular Stimulation and Dry Needling on interesting cases. Dr Padmini Prasad, Obstetrician and gynecologist from Bangalore spoke on sexual medicine in clinical practice. Dr M G Hiremath, Director, KIMS, Hubli was invited as the guest of honor and this event was presided over by Dr R R Kalghatgi.

  • ACUVSION 2007

  • The 3rd National symposium of the Acupuncture Association of India, 'ACUVSION 2007' was organized on 17th and 18th November, 2007 at IMA hall in Hubli, Karnataka. The theme for this conference was 'Acupuncture re-defined' and was organized under the leadership of the organizing secretary Dr. Vinay Varma. A wide range of topics formed the epicentre of this symposium wherein the lesser known aspects of acupuncture therapy were aptly described and discussed by reputed speakers from different medical specialties. Acupuncture can form an important complementary therapy was explained well by the speakers thereby portraying acupuncture in a refreshing new light.

  • Cerebral Palsy - Current Trends & Advances 2011

  • CME on 'Cerebral Palsy - Current Trends & Advances' was organized on 30th January 2011 at IMA House, Hubli, Karnataka by Govindram Varma Charitable Trust in collaboration with Indian Medical Association, Hubli Branch, Hubli - Dharwad Orthopedic Association & Indian Academy of Paediatrics, Dharwad District Branch. An array of lectures were delivered by Dr. Anand Varma, Dr. B D Athani and Dr. Vijendra Rao on an overview of the disease and the current trends and advances in the management of cerebral palsy. Scientific deliberations were conducted during sessions to provide an insight and propagate various views on the management of this disabling disorder.
